It has been quite awhile since I've had a chance to get back to my blog, but so many things have been going on and since the best place to start is at the beginning; I'll begin at the end. My first grand-daughter, Sarah, graduated high school, ordinarily this would be a simple attendance to the graduation and party, but NOOOOO! We traveled fourteen and a half hours, on highways that were being repaired and gas prices that required a second mortgage on the house. I'm a northern girl, born and bred in Chi-town and after crossing the Tennessee mountains, the temp began to rise along with the humidity, we grit our teeth, shed some clothes and began our adventure. There was a Grand-parents breakfast, which was really nice, then came the graduation. It started at seven in the evening, you'da thought it would cool off, NOOOOOOO! It was eighty-eight degrees and we sat for three hours on metal bleachers. Needless to say after an hour, I could no longer feel my back or my bottom. Her party was great and I drank lots of water and really enjoyed the air-conditioning, oh by the way this was in Georgia, and beautiful state, but if someone gave me a house there, I would give it back. Like I said I enjoy summer, but I also enjoy the four seasons and snow. And now you know, just how much grand-parents love their grand-children.

Well, this has been quite a month. Lots of things to do and even if you have daylight savings, sometimes the day wizz by. We have finally releaved ourselves of the moles and have been busy cutting this huge area of grass, planting and yes even weeding already. But I did have time to finish my carousel. It's a project that has been in the back of my mind for awhile, then I bumped my head, and it moved right to the front. We are preparing to leave for Georgia soon, for my grand-daughter's high school graduation. And yes, it does take a lot of prep. Between making sure you have everything, there is Emily to tend to since we can't take her with. I don't understand how hotels with take children, and not pets, they both can be a little messy, so what's the deal. But anyway, Emily will stay home with the care of some wonderful neighbors. Well, I hope you enjoy my carousel, and really enjoyed the challenge of making it.

WATER - WATER EVERYWHERE!
Well, this is only Saturday and already the weekend is ever exciting. Last night about midnight, I went into the Work Shop for a vac, and low and behold there was a small stream running through the middle of the room. Naturally, since I am a curious person, I thought I would follow it, just to make sure we would'nt have to break out the life raft. Low and behold, I discovered it's source. Our hot water heater had finally given up the ghost and was spewing water in many directions. Well, naturally the first thing I did was yell for my husband to come and see what solution he could come up with. Miraculously, he did, he turned off the water, Dah! So with that, being as late as it was, I heated a kettle full of water, washed my face and went to bed, thinking tomorrow is another day! And sure enough it was! It is now 3:30 p.m., and thanks to Sir Kurt, my son, and knight in shinning armour, we have a new tank and hot water. See you never know just how exciting a weekend can be, but if you get bored with yours, you can always come here, because believe me it is never dull. Oh well, tomorrow is ANOTHER DAY?!

MOLES,MOLES,MOLES!!!!!
I have a problem and it has been a growing problem each year. Especially now that the ground is thawing and softer. It's a problem we have spent hundreds of dollars treating and investigating, but to no avail. We have tried Grubx, we have tried milk spores, we have tried smoke and a shovel, but still they return with a vengence. Our lawn which use to be the envy of our neighbors now looks like a road map. We have little holes popping up here and there and if you're not careful, you can trip over one of their tunnels. Well, I have given up, totally. I have place a sign in the front yard, "ADOPT A MOLE" and help Mother Nature. We probably won't get rid of the moles, but now I know I have tried EVERYTHING!

EASTER 2008
This Easter seemed so special, mainly because we can't really get together as often as we like, due to the fact we're always so darn busy. Also because it just seems that winter has laster SOOOOOOO long. We ate and laughed and caught up on the family news, which sometimes is quite shocking, he-he, and all the new projects we're into. The guys were happy watching the sports on T.V. and we girls had our projects and blogs to catch up with. Also had a couple of neighbors over that are two of a kind. They're a senior couple who play gigs on the side. Bonnie really belts out a song and Ralph joins in on the piano. They are so sweet and is proof that no matter what age you are, if you just stay young at heart, age will have no place in your life, by the way Bonnie is 78 and Ralph is 85 years young. Altogether it was a great day and evening. Sure hope you all had as nice a day.
